ProductsRF filters, diplexers, multiplexers and assemblies
Four product families. Each section lists what it is for, what to consider, what to send us for a custom request, and the datasheets currently published.
Frequency spans are taken from the datasheet frequency labels of catalog parts. They show what is published, not the limits of what can be designed.
SMT Filters
Surface-mount filters for integration directly on the PCB, where board area and cost per unit matter.
Function and typical applications
- Band selection and out-of-band rejection in compact RF front ends
- Cellular, ISM and satellite/navigation receivers
- Board-level preselection and harmonic filtering
Design considerations
- Technology: LC and ceramic/LTCC cover broad frequency ranges; SAW and BAW are used for steep selectivity in fixed bands
- Footprint, pad layout and PCB material affect final performance, more so at higher frequencies
- Power handling is generally lower than in connectorized cavity filters
For a custom request, send
- Center frequency and passband
- Insertion loss limit and rejection frequencies/levels
- Maximum VSWR and power level
- Footprint limit and operating temperature range
| Technology | Datasheets | Frequency span | Example part |
|---|---|---|---|
| LC | 14 | 200 MHz – 6 GHz | NX-BPF-1240-480-LC-2210 (1000–1480 MHz) |
| Ceramic (mono-block, center frequencies) | 9 | 715.5 MHz – 2.54 GHz | NX4H1950S60H50 (1950 MHz center) |
| LTCC | 1 | 3.3 GHz – 4.2 GHz | NX-BPF-3750-900-40 (3300–4200 MHz) |
| SAW | 12 | 791 MHz – 2.69 GHz | NX-BPF-1745-75-50 (1710–1785 MHz) |
| BAW Preliminary data | 5 | 1.98 GHz – 2.5 GHz | NX-BPF-1995-30 (1980–2010 MHz · N256 UL / Satcom) |
Connectorized Filters
Standalone filters in connectorized housings, inserted at system level in a coax signal path.
Function and typical applications
- Low-pass: suppress harmonics from amplifiers and sources
- High-pass: block low-frequency interference
- Band-pass: select a channel or band
- Band-stop: notch a known interferer
Design considerations
- Construction in catalog: Cavity (12), LC (3), Stripline (3), Interdigital (2), Comb Cavity (1)
- Cavity and interdigital/comb-cavity types suit low loss and high rejection; trade-off against size and weight
- Connector type, housing outline and mounting need to be agreed up front
For a custom request, send
- Filter type and passband or cutoff frequency
- Insertion loss limit, rejection points and VSWR
- Power level and connector type
- Mechanical outline and environmental requirements
| Function | Datasheets | Frequency span | Example part |
|---|---|---|---|
| Band-pass | 11 | 185 MHz – 10.5 GHz | NX-BPF-1750-40 (800 – 2700 MHz) |
| High-pass | 6 | 300 MHz – 18 GHz | NX-HPF-18000-60 (18 GHz) |
| Low-pass | 3 | DC – 18 GHz | NX-LPF-1000-70 (1.0 GHz) |
| Band-stop | 1 | 500 MHz – 3 GHz | NX-BSF-1030-60 (500–940 MHz & 1100–3000 MHz) |
Diplexers & Multiplexers
Frequency-combining assemblies that split or combine bands on a shared port.
Function and typical applications
- Diplexers: two bands on one port
- Multiplexers: several bands on one port
- Switched filter banks: select one of several filter paths
- Multi-band receivers and transmitters, shared antennas, test set-ups
Design considerations
- Crossover region and isolation between channels
- Port match across all bands, and insertion loss per channel
- Number of bands or channels, and control interface for switched banks
For a custom request, send
- Band edges for each port and the crossover frequency
- Isolation and loss targets per channel
- Power level, connector type and outline
- Control logic and supply, for switched banks
| Type | Datasheets | Frequency span | Example part |
|---|---|---|---|
| Diplexer | 4 | DC – 18 GHz | NX-DPX-1400-50 (1100–1300 & 1500–1650 MHz) |
| Multiplexer | 1 | 500 MHz – 18 GHz | NX-MUX-500-18000-5B (0.5 – 18 GHz · 5 bands) |
| Switch Filter Bank | 1 | 300 MHz – 8 GHz | NX-SFB-300-8000-11CH (300 – 8000 MHz · 11 channels) |
Active RF Assemblies
Switched multi-band filter banks with an integrated amplifier chain, delivered as one assembly rather than a separate filter and amplifier.
Function and typical applications
- Band selection, gain and out-of-band rejection in a single unit
- Front-end preselection with gain where several bands must be covered
- Custom integrated assemblies built around a filter specification
Design considerations
- Gain and noise figure versus filter insertion loss
- DC supply, control interface and thermal behavior
- Isolation between channels and amplifier stability
For a custom request, send
- Bands or channels and required gain
- Noise figure and output power targets
- DC supply voltage and control interface
- Connectors, outline and environmental requirements
| Part number | Frequency / gain | Type |
|---|---|---|
| NX-AFA-18000-40000-35G | 18 – 40 GHz · Gain ≥35dB | Filter-amplifier assembly |
| NX-AFA-500-2000-20G | 0.5 – 2 GHz · Gain 20-26dB | Filter-amplifier assembly |
